The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order replaced all previous fire safety legislation. Any fire certificate issued under the Fire Precautions Act 1971 ceases to have any effect. Responsibility for complying with the order rests with the “Responsible or Competent person”.
In a workplace, this is the employer and any other person who may have control of any part of the premises, e.g. the occupier or owner. In all other premises the person or people in control of the premises will be responsible. |
Overview and benefits |
Fire Auditing is a necessary tool to ensure that you are meeting the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order. It also ensures that you and your employees are aware of the procedures that need to be taken to ensure their safety in the event of a fire.
Only too often good fire safety assessments and procedures fail because employees fail to maintain the standard or do not understand their roles in the fire safety environment. Training Safety will review all your fire safety arrangements including:
Your existing fire risk assessment
Fire plans
Means of detection and warning
Means of escape
Emergency lighting and fire signage
Portable fire fighting equipment
Any special fire risks
Fire training and records
